A region in the middle of the constellation Cygnus, just below the North America Nebula. In the image, the glowing ionized gas is partially left dark behind non-ionized gas filaments that appear dark. Photographed with an 11" reflector telescope and narrowband filters; exposure time approximately 6 hours. Ionized oxygen, O-III, glows with turquoise-blue light; the ionization of sulfur and hydrogen appears golden-yellow.
