The western part of the Veil Nebula supernova remnant is commonly known as the Witch’s Broom. In this experimental image, the stars have been removed to emphasize the structure of the gas filaments.
Ionized hydrogen glows red, while oxygen appears in blue tones.
Captured in Oulu with an 11″ reflecting telescope in 2015, total exposure time approximately 15 hours.
